One particularly difficult condition to treat with traditional medical/physical therapy techniques is Diabetic Neuropathy (nerve damage from diabetes which affects sensation in the feet and hands). We freuqently treat this condition in our physical therapy clinics and previously used infared light.
We have found a much more effective technique using the ScenarPT device to help relieve the paresthesias (pins and needles) associated with this condition as well as the pain. Both temporary and longer lasting results with regular ScenarPT treatments have been achieved and many of our patients have elected to purchase their own ScenarPT Sport units which they use as an ongoing therapeutic adjunct to the professional treatments in our office. This is also helpful when our patients are traveling and not available to come in for treatment. By self treating 10-15 minutes twice/day, significant relief has been achieved and our patients have been extremely appreciative of having results with a therapy they have not encountered previously in other offices. This has also helped our Clinics’ revenue streams and added to our patient census in all of our clinics.
